URGENT DEMONSTRATION - SUNDAY

Despite ongoing efforts to achieve a different outcome, we have just been advised that BMD [the construction contractors] intend to begin felling mature trees and other vegetation on the bushy rise along Fitzsimons Lane on Wednesday.

As a demonstration of firm objection to the process and this outcome, we are gathering on site this SUNDAY, MAY 9th, at 3pm We hope you can all be there! It is essential that community opposition is made visible - not just for this project, but for any future ‘development’. * * * We refuse to give in quietly * * *

We know that for many people, this Sunday is a day of celebrating Mothers… and we encourage you to make this demonstration a vital part of your day.

Mums of the world would be proud :-)

Linear Reserve Playground, Bolton Street, corner of Old Eltham Road, Lower Plenty

We are dismayed at repetitive correspondence from Authorities and Ministers - or their ‘support teams’ - telling us that MRPV have undertaken rigorous processes, and that the community and local Council have been respected. We know that from the beginning, this has not been a fair and transparent process, and we

demand significant changes in how this and other projects across the State are undertaken whether in Nagambie, Ararat, Coburg or Torquay.

On Sunday, come and speak up for where you live and love!

If you can, wear red, bring a placard and some family & friends!
